  • PCOS Diet: How Gond Katira May Help Keep PCOS Symptoms At Bay

When it comes to managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), we try all sorts of permutations and combinations to ease up the symptoms. For the unversed, PCOS is a health condition in people who menstruate where cysts form in ovaries, caused by the overproduction of a hormone called androgens. This causes various health conditions in people. Although there is no cure for the condition yet, as per the PCOS Awareness Association, there are ways to decrease the symptoms of the condition. While you may have heard of herbal teas that might help relieve pain and other symptoms, there is another, lesser-known kitchen ingredient that can come to your rescue – Gond Katira. You must have seen your mother include this gum in various desserts but, you’ll be surprised to know how this can also be used to manage your symptoms. How, you’re wondering? Let’s find out.

Gond and gond katira might sound similar, but they are actually quite different. Gond is pale yellow, has tiny crystals, and dissolves in water when soaked for 5-6 hours. It is known for its warming properties, which is why it’s a popular ingredient in winter treats like ladoos and panjiri. On the other hand, gond katira is translucent with large crystals. Instead of dissolving, this ingredient fluffs up in water and has cooling properties. This is what makes it perfect when you want to cool down your body.

  • No Space For Bezos”: Why Venice Locals Are Against The Billionaire’s Wedding

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez, former TV journalist, are set to get married. The details of the nuptials are top secret with even the date of the wedding not public yet but the festivities are scheduled for 24-26th June.

However, there is a lot of anger among locals as they fear the world heritage site will suffer from the effects of excessive tourism.

Activists have ramped up their “No space for Bezos” campaign after Luigi Brugnaro, Venice’s millionaire mayor, confirmed in March that the couple would be getting married in the city.

The locals erected a banner reading “No Bezos” on the bell tower of San Giorgio basilica on the Venetian island of San Giorgio, where the couple is rumoured to be exchanging vows.According to a report by the NYT, Federica Toninello, a protest organiser, said that one of the venues could be The Misericordia, a former charity turned events hall. But she said that Bezos will never get to the venue. “Bezos will never get to the Misericordia,” she said, adding, “We will line the streets with our bodies, block the canals with lifesavers, dinghies and our boats.”

Na Haby Stella Faye, another protester, said, “We have a chance to disrupt a ten million dollar wedding – let’s do it.”

Despite very little information about the wedding, the press has been filled with hearsay about guests, hotel rooms, the bride’s dress and more.

“This wedding is causing much friction, especially because it is happening at a time when Venice, already invaded by uncontrolled tourism, is completely worn out,” said Giovanni Andrea Martini, a councillor for the opposition, per a report by the Guardian.

Brugnaro has called the anti-Bezos campaigners “shameful” and has informed locals that the wedding will not cause any inconvenience.Only 200 guests will have been invited and therefore it will be easy for Venice to accommodate such an event, without any disruption whatsoever to the city, its residents and visitors,” the Municipality of Venice said, according to Today.com.

The opposition member, Giovanni Andrea Martini, said that Brugnaro’s claims are “false”. He slammed the “extreme case of the Disneyfication of Venice,” and said the wedding “won’t bring any benefit to ordinary Venetians. It is just going to cause inconvenience.”

  • Man Orders Ice Cream Via Zomato, Ends Up In A Heartfelt Conversation With Delivery Agent

In today’s fast-paced world, moments of real human connection can sometimes be missed. However, a recent incident involving a Zomato customer ordering ice cream showed how empathy and kindness still matter. What was expected to be a routine delivery turned into a heartfelt conversation between the customer and the delivery agent, offering a clear reminder of the personal stories behind every service and the importance of compassion in our busy lives. This simple exchange has since inspired many to pause and appreciate the people working behind the scenes to bring convenience to our doorstep.

In a recent LinkedIn post, user Ishan Bhatt shared a simple yet powerful experience from his evening. He wrote, “Yesterday I ordered ice cream from Zomato. (Yes, I believe in dessert before hibernation). Fifteen minutes later, I got a call: “Sir, aap neeche aa sakte ho?” Wrapped up like a paneer roll in my blanket, I replied, “Kyu bhai? Aap aa jaao na upar.” There was a pause, then he said, “Sir, main handicapped hoon.” Suddenly, silence. Guilt came faster than the delivery. I threw off the blanket like the main character in a movie and ran down as if the ice cream was melting in real time.” Reflecting on the moment, Ishan confessed that it stayed with him long after. “We often complain about late deliveries, melted food, and poor packaging – but behind the scenes, companies like Zomato are offering real opportunities to people who truly need them. This encounter made me feel both human and humbled. So next time your delivery partner calls, maybe don’t be wrapped in your blanket like some paneer roll. Also, yes, the ice cream was worth it.” Internet users were quick to react to the viral post. One person wrote, “From paneer roll to superhero sprint! Love this heartwarming moment and Zomato’s efforts. May they keep surprising us (and delivering smiles)! Also, now craving paneer rolls and ice cream. Thanks for that!” Another commented, “If you could have shared the delivery person’s details, we could have contributed to his better living, too.”

Someone added, “Agli baar ek ice cream bhaiya ko bhi dena as a goodwill gesture for his support, please.”Another user shared, “Absolutely heartwarming. It’s incredible how platforms like Zomato are enabling dignity and independence for the differently-abled. We often overlook the real stories behind our doorstep convenience. Here’s to more inclusive employment opportunities that empower people and remind us to meet humanity with gratitude.”

One person hoped, “I hope 5 stars rating di ho.” Another summed it up simply, “A bit of kindness with ice cream.” One user shared a similar experience: “I had a similar experience yesterday – the delivery rider claimed he was handicapped and couldn’t come up to the 4th floor due to no lift. But when I asked how he drove, he said ‘scooty,’ and right after I contacted customer support, he showed up at my doorstep.”

  • US Teen Girl Dies After Being Attacked By Starving Dogs She Tried To Feed

Loving dogs is admirable, but understanding the risks involved is equally important. A tragic incident in Alexander, Arkansas, in the southern United States, claimed the life of 15-year-old Makayla Fortner, who was mauled to death while trying to feed and care for dozens of neglected, starving dogs, according to KATV News.

The teen and her mother, Stephanie Wilkie, had been trying to rescue the estimated 30 to 40 malnourished dogs after noticing the severe neglect by their owners. The fatal attack occurred on the property about 17 miles from Little Rock, where the animals had been left without proper care. Authorities described the scene as “horrific”. At approximately 12:15 pm on June 13th, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a female had been attacked by dogs. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded immediately to the scene, where they found the girl dead. Neighbors who spoke with KATV said the girl had been trying to feed the malnourished dogs on a property on White Oak Drive when she was killed. The young woman and her mother, out of kindness, had been caring for the animals for some time after noticing their deplorable condition. Shortly after noon, neighbours heard sirens and then gunshots as one of the first deputies arrived on the scene.

“I watched the Saline County deputy come out and go up to the fence, and a bunch of dogs ran, ran the fence. He pulled out his pistol and shot into the ground twice, and the dogs ran. And then he walked over and looked down and turned around and walked back. And so I moved, and I saw a body on the ground,” said Ralph Murphy, who lives across the street on Cherylwood Road.

Neighbors say they have complained multiple times in the past to the county about the dogs, which were not controlled by their owners and at times ran loose throughout the neighborhood. When they moved in, all the neighbours were very upset. They moved in with a huge amount of dogs and a large amount of broken-down vehicles. These dogs were very vicious at the fence to the point that no one wanted to let their children walk to and from the bus stop; like, you had to get out here to get your 15-year-old off the bus because of these dogs…. They do not look well cared for,” Heidi Clay, whose family owns property nearby, said.
